• Verbal abuse: teasing, name-calling, or derogatory remarks.
• Psychological harassment: forcing someone to perform tasks that cause embarrassment, humiliation, or mental stress.
• Physical abuse: hitting, pushing, or forcing physical activities against a student’s will.
• Sexual harassment: inappropriate remarks, gestures, or demands for sexual favors.
• Isolation and ostracism: excluding someone from normal academic or social activities to intimidate or demean them.
• Other coercive acts: compelling students to perform tasks like singing, dancing, or running errands in a humiliating way.

Anything that violates the dignity and rights of a student, causes fear, embarrassment, or harm, directly or indirectly, is considered ragging.

As per the directives of the UGC, any student found guilty of ragging shall face strict disciplinary action, which may include one or more of the following:

• Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
• Withholding or withdrawing scholarship, fellowship, and other academic/financial benefits.
• Debarring from appearing in any test, examination, or other evaluation process.
• Withholding results.
• Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national, or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
• Suspension or expulsion from the hostel.
• Cancellation of admission.
• Rustication from the institution for a period ranging from one to four semesters.
• Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period.
